There are several ways YOU can become involved with the FIKE Center!
What is a Mentor?
A one-on-one relationship where an adult serves as a role model to a youth. A wise and trusted counselor; an influential sponsor or supporter.
As parents, we know that it’s harder to parent today than ever before. Our kids are bombarded by negative influences from peers, social media, television, the music industry among others. A mentor is one of those 5 positive influences in your student’s life. This individual will come alongside you to help your child be all that you want them to be. I had a mentor and my kids had a mentor.
Research tells us that every child needs 5 positive people in their lives outside of their families.
Some Things a Volunteer Can Do:
- Volunteers can fix or provide meals for FIKE students on Monday and Fridays to be served at 5:30pm. If interested please contact fikecentersc@gmail.com to schedule date and time.
- Volunteers can be an After School Buddy to assist with homework and reading.
- Volunteers can provide items from our AMAZON wish list.
- Volunteers can offer scholarships for quarterly field trips or service projects. If interested please contact fikecentersc@gmail.com.
- Volunteers can schedule on Fridays to come and demonstrate or share their hobbies and skills with our students.
